FAQs
How do I attach the tether and waist strap to the buoy?
The Waist Strap is the longer strap with the clip that shuts, the Buoy Tether is the shorter strap with the adjustment clip. The Buoy Tether attaches to the plastic Rings of the Buoy. The Waist Strap attaches to the Buoy Tether.
How tight should the waist Strap be?
Snug, not tight.
You should be able to fit two fingers between the belt and your waist.
If it’s too tight, it can restrict movement. Too loose, and the buoy may drift side-to-side.
How do I tell when it is fully inflated?
Inflate the buoy until it feels firm, then stop.
Avoid over-inflating. A small amount of give improves durability and helps the buoy ride smoothly on the water.
Can I swim with it attached at all times?
Yes.
The buoy is designed to be worn throughout your swim and will not affect your stroke or breathing when set up correctly.
What essentials can I pack inside the buoy?
The buoy is ideal for small essentials such as keys, phone, nutrition, and lightweight clothing.
Pack items evenly, roll the top down tightly before clipping, and keep heavier items closest to the base of the bag to maintain balance in the water.
Always double-check the seal before entering the water.
Can I buy a replacement Buoy Tether or Waist Strap separately?
No. We don’t offer replacement tethers as standalone items. We recommend buying a replacement buoy or finding an alternative strap from other stores.
Is a swim buoy a safety device?
A swim buoy is a visibility and confidence aid, not a personal safety or rescue device.
Always swim within your abilities, choose conditions that match your experience, and follow local open-water safety guidance. The buoy is designed to support your swim, not replace awareness, preparation, or good judgment.
